By accessing and using Four Score Athletics ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Four Score Athletics is a personal fitness tracking platform that allows you to:

Add friends and communicate with messaging
Create or join groups
Schedule private or group events of different categories
Record personal activities and contribute to your group score
Add personal notes and descriptions to your activities

3. User Accounts

Account Creation Requirements:

Basic functionality requires the following information:
- Valid email address (required for login)
Advanced features require the following personal information:
- First and last name
- Birthday (or birth month) and gender (required for logging activities and appropriate age group associations)
- Home city and country (required for event creation)
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Messaging Feature Requirements (18+ Only):

You must be 18 years of age or older to access messaging features
Telephone number verification is required for messaging
Age verification will be conducted before messaging access is granted

Device Permissions:

Camera access may be requested for QR code scanning and event participation features
Haptic feedback may be used for specific activities (like prayer reminders) and notifications
These permissions are optional and you can deny them while still using core features

Account Security:

Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Use a strong, unique password
Do not share your account with others

4. Garmin Connect Integration (Optional)

By connecting your Garmin account, you authorize us to:

Access your activity data from Garmin Connect via their official API
Store and display your fitness activities
Use OAuth tokens to maintain the connection

Important: Garmin integration is entirely optional and not required to use Four Score Athletics. This feature is available depending on your goals in using the platform and whether you already have the necessary hardware (sports watch). You can use all core features of the platform without connecting any fitness device.

You can disconnect your Garmin account at any time through your account settings.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Use automated scripts to access the Service (except for authorized API access)
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its content are owned by Four Score Athletics
Your activity data belongs to you
You grant us a license to store and display your data for the purpose of providing the Service

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Email Notifications:

You will receive email notifications about your account and activities. You can turn off email notifications at any time through your account settings in the app. You maintain full control over your communication preferences.

8. Data Accuracy

The Service displays activity data as provided by Garmin Connect. We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by third-party devices or services.

9. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but regularly add new features and updates which may alter the user interface
We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Personal Use

This Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the Service for any commercial purposes without our express written permission.

11a. Age Requirements for Messaging

Messaging Feature Age Requirement:

You must be 18 years of age or older to use messaging features on Four Score Athletics. While users of all ages may create accounts and use other features of the platform, messaging capabilities are restricted to users who are 18 or older.

Messaging Access Requirements:

Age verification (18+)
Verified telephone number
Compliance with our community guidelines

Users who are under 18 can use all other features of Four Score Athletics, including activity tracking, event participation, group membership, and viewing content, but cannot access messaging features until they reach 18 years of age.

12. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with Garmin Connect, which is governed by Garmin's Terms of Use. You are responsible for complying with Garmin's terms when using their services through our platform.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction.
